A life dedicated to flamenco
My journey in dance began at just five years old, when I joined the Los Gitanillos de Bronce academy, directed by Margarita and Mancilla. From a very young age I started performing at velás in Seville, in Triana, in the Plazuela de Santa Ana, the Barco de Santa Ana, nursing homes, nearby towns and cities, experiencing flamenco from within and on stage.
Training and early stages
At eleven I expanded my training at the Juan Morilla school to prepare for the Spanish classical conservatory program, which I completed independently. During that period I formed “El Trío” with two classmates, performing both as a group and individually. We were even interviewed by El Loco de la Colina, who encouraged us and predicted a great future for us in flamenco.
Over the years I had the opportunity to share the stage and work alongside great artists such as Chiquetete, Cantores de Híspalis, Paco Taranto, El Pali, Carmen Linares, María Jiménez and Nano de Jerez, performing in emblematic theaters of Seville such as the Lope de Vega and the Álvarez Quintero.
Experiences abroad
At sixteen I had a very special experience working for four months at an Expo in Nagasaki, Japan. That same year I also began my time as a teacher at Los Gitanillos de Bronce, the same academy where I trained as a child.
My own academy
In 2001 I decided to strike out on my own and founded my dance academy, beginning to work independently. Since then I have remained dedicated to the teaching and dissemination of flamenco, even taking my students to perform outside Spain, such as in an unforgettable experience in Rome.
Today I continue to lead the Academia de Baile Reyes Acal, conveying my passion for flamenco and sharing everything I have learned throughout my career.
